Director, producer, and playwright, Danita Jones, began performing at the age of five.  Although she found herself onstage from grade school through college, she was fascinated with telling stories that are rarely told. In 2003, upon graduating with a BA in Theatre from Fisk University, she founded “Productions by Danita Jones,” a company that creates original works for stage and film. After receiving her MFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail University, she furthered her “smart art initiative;” a movement that pairs community education and activism with theatre.
